A Relaxing Day in Robe

Strolling down the main street of Robe, I observed people of all ages, though mostly teenagers spoiling themselves in the numerous shops that litter the main street of Robe. Ice creameries, cinemas, surf shops were just some of the shops receiving the most attention from the excited tourists and locals. The pleasantly warm weather supported the cheerful atmosphere; everyone was having a great time.

The warm weather brought out everyone's greatest weapon against the sunburn; the sombrero. It seemed there was an undeclared competition for the biggest and best sombrero, as the huge hats grew every days.

Large rolling waves could be found on Long Beach and believe me; its name isn't at all misleading. Daunting the 4 footers are, I feel safe and secure on the body board. My friend is there with me for support, as well as my fins. After multiple stacks, I retreated closer to the shore, where the waves reform to 2-3 foot. I enjoyed zipping down the face of the wave before it completely crashes, and then straighten up to face the shoreline.

Not long later, I'm on my surf board. Confidence ceases to find me when I'm on it and so I chose only to catch the whitewash, still managing to stand up with ease. Not long after I switched back to my body board.

A short walk later and I'm back in the small rented house. The fish ‘n’ chip shop is just superb; not only the food but also the price. That doubtlessly justified why it was so packed.

Stomach’s bloated, my mate and I decided to go for a walk around the town at night, when it was dark and cooler.

When the time was right (we weren’t sure what it was) we went to bed and recharged for the next day...
